چکیده

Abstract In this work, we study the influence of f ( R , T ) gravity on rapidly rotating neutron stars. First discuss main aspects modified theory where gravitational Lagrangian is an arbitrary function Ricci scalar and trace energy–momentum tensor . Then present basic equations for stars including state used in work to describe hadronic matter. Some physical quantities interest are calculated such as mass–radius relations, moments inertia, angular momentum, compactness. By considering four different rotation regimes, obtain results that indicate substantial modifications properties when compared those context general relativity. particular, relation sequences indicates increases mass equatorial radius with velocity smaller than Kepler limit.

Light Curves for Rapidly-rotating Neutron Stars

We present raytracing computations for light emitted from the surface of a rapidly-rotating neutron star in order to construct light curves for X-ray pulsars and bursters. These calculations are for realistic models of rapidly-rotating neutron stars which take into account both the correct exterior metric and the oblate shape of the star. We find that the most important effect arising from rota...

Relativistic g-modes in rapidly rotating neutron stars

We study the g-modes of fast rotating neutron in the general relativistic Cowling approximation. Our background models take into account the buoyant force due to composition gradients. We compare the Newtonian results of Passamonti et al. (2009) with our relativistic ones and we find an excellent qualitative agreement.

Pulse Shapes from Rapidly-rotating Neutron Stars: Equatorial Photon Orbits

We demonstrate that fitted values of stellar radius obtained by fitting theoretical light curves to observations of millisecond period X-ray pulsars can significantly depend on the method used to calculate the light curves. The worst-case errors in the fitted radius are evaluated by restricting ourselves to the case of light emitted and received in the equatorial plane of a rapidly-rotating neu...

r-Mode Runaway and Rapidly Rotating Neutron Stars.

We present a simple spin-evolution model that predicts that rapidly rotating accreting neutron stars will be confined mainly to a narrow range of spin frequencies: P=1.5-5 ms. This is in agreement with current observations of neutron stars in both the low-mass X-ray binaries and the millisecond radio pulsars. The main ingredients in the model are (1) the instability of r-modes above a critical ...
